Dear Restaurant Owner,
Chicago Biofuels is a not for profit organization that focuses on educating the public about the benefits of renewable fuels in Chicago. CBF gives presentations at schools and colleges, as well as at car shows and renewable energy fairs.
One of our projects is turning waste vegetable oil from restaurants into fuel for diesel vehicles. We are developing a pilot project with local restaurants to recycle their used vegetable oil.
The pilot phase will allow us to gauge interest in the program and test the quality of the used oil. We currently can only process non-hydrogenated oil (not shortening or lard). We will collect the grease in the same 5 gallon containers (“jibs”) that it’s sold in.
In return for non-tax deductible grease donations, restaurants will be included in the Chicago Biofuels network which will be listed on our website. You can also display literature and window stickers to show your customers how you are contributing to a more sustainable future by recycling your waste into a petroleum alternative. At the end of each quarter, you will get a statement that reflects the amount of oil you recycled and the associated amount of petroleum you helped displace in Chicago.
If you want to participate in the pilot project, please fill out the information below and email or fax back to us. A representative of Chicago Biofuels will be contacting you shortly.
